RE: New University Regulations
The University has made a critical announcement with respect to the paying of outstanding fees and I quote from a release dated July 8, 2014 from the Office of the Campus Registrar;
“Returning students with outstanding balances must settle these as a pre-condition for registration. Students with outstanding balances will NOT BE ALLOWED to select courses for the new academic year and will be denied access to all facilities of the Campus.”
The Guild of Students is therefore encouraging students to take note of the policy being enforced and do their very best to settle all outstanding balances from the previous academic year as we enter into the New Year.
Please also note that the Guild Council through consultations with the Principal has achieved one of our goals for the 2014/15 academic year in getting the administration to agree not to block students from exams or online systems for financial reasons once they have been duly registered. This means in other words, that once students have registered for courses (after settling balances from last year) they will not for financial reasons be unable to sit exams or access course material.
The Guild Council and I as President will ensure that the University honours this Commitment for the upcoming academic year as we have always felt that blocking students from exams for fees is an unreasonable policy.
I urge students of the Mona Campus to play their part and do their best to be in Good financial standing with the University by either paying your fees in full or applying in time for a payment plan to be put in place.
