S.L.B Application Period

The Application and Renewal Period for the Students Loan Bureau has begun.

The SLB wishes to remind you that;

1. Applications will ONLY be accepted at www.slbja.com
2. Continuing beneficiaries are to submit their status reports on time and as early as the application form becomes available. (February 13)
3. Guarantor Interviews commence February 2012

Operation ID

Operation ID has now began!!!

Lets work as a community and help each other by passing along text books we no longer need.

Here is how it works;

  • Search for your old text books that are more than likely sitting at home begging to be read.
  • Take the books to the Guild Office at The Students Union Monday-Friday between 9am and 4:30pm

Postgraduate Workshop

The faculty of Humanities & Education, Postgraduate section is hosting a workshop. It is scheduled for Saturday the 28th January, 2012, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Please be informed that Applications are now open to Higher Degree Programmes 2012 - 2013 Academic Year. Applications for Scholarships and Bursaries are also open for said academic period.

Financial Assistance Update

The Guild Financial Assistance program has an updated list; 82 additional applicants were given grants.

The list is on the Guild Website www.uwimonaguild.org under the news section.

If you have been awarded food grants, please collect it this Monday or Tuesday at Hilo, there is a list there with names and ID numbers. (ensure that you bring your UWI ID)

You must collect on those two days or the grant expires.

Also, those who have book grants can go to the University bookshop at any time. The bookshop has the list of names and ID numbers.

Free Confidential Telephone Counselling

The UWI Health Center is offering a CONFIDENTIAL telephone counselling service to students and staff of the Mona campus. This telephone service is available Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. The number to call is 294-0042.
