Updated Guild Financial Assistance List
This is the new list for the Guild Financial Assistance Program; it was done because the Bursary relayed incorrect information to the Guild Council.
Persons who have received food allocations may visit the Guild Office on Wednesday November 30,2011 to collect their vouchers.
Persons who have received transportation allocations may visit the office today to collect their bus tickets (2 per day).
For books, you may collect their vouchers on Wednesday.
ALL CASH allocations will be sent straight to their accounts.
Champions League Postponed
UWI Mona Guild and Sagicor's Champions League Matches for today Sunday November 27, 2011 have been postponed.
The two matches will, instead by played tomorrow evening at 5pm at the Mona bowl.
We'll apologize for the short notice but the change had to be made to accommodate two of our teams.

World AIDS Day-Dec.1
UWISTAT in collaboration with the Guild of Students and SCORA (Jamaica Medical Students Assoc. -Standing Committee on Reproductive Health including HIV/ AIDS) has been planning a 'Wear Red Day' for World AIDS Day, December 1, 2011. On this day, we wish to encourage all students and staff of UWI, Mona to wear red in support of all persons who have been living with or have family members who have been affected by HIV/AIDS in any way. Remember too that on this day will be Red Integration.
Let's Talk Sex
On Thursday November 24, 2011 a focus group discussion will be held under the theme "Let's Talk Sex - the myths and risks" at the Students' Union. The discussion will be filmed and edited to a 10-min presentation. We want to hear the truth about sex from young people and the importance of getting tested and using protection. We need a total of 5 participants (males and females). The presentation will be aired on Thursday December 1 in commemoration of World Aids Day.

No More Calculators
This is to inform you that as of the 2011/2012 academic year, the Examinations Section will no longer provide calculators to candidates writing examinations. Candidates will therefore be required to supply themselves with a NON-PROGRAMMABLE, SILENT, CORDLESS calculator for ALL UWI examinations where applicable. Candidates will also be responsible for ensuring that their calculator is in good working order for their examinations and for providing themselves with an alternate means of calculating should their calculator fail during an examination.

If you are an applicant please check the list below to see the sum that has been allocated to you.
The grants consist of Cash grants, Transportation Grants, Food Grants and Book Grants. All monies will be paid to your University account by November 28th, 2011.

Intercol Rugby 9’s Tournament
The defending Rugby 13’s Intercol Champions, UWI MONA Pelicans, took to the stage at UTECH last Thursday, 10th November 2011, for the first day of the Intercol 9’s Tournament. Looking to set the tone for another successful season. bright eyed new players as well as returning veterans looked optimistic as they sized up their opposition for the day; UTECH, PCC, MICO and GC Foster.
